Designed to be the longest lasting,
most reliable double seal.
The FSI Type 2080D is a double balanced, dual cartridge seal that is ideal for use where dual seals are required. Designed using Finite Element Analysis simulation that optimizes its components, the Type 2080D is a more structurally sound seal that provides longer seal life.
Premium-grade construction is standard for the FSI Type 2080D which features Viton™ elastomers, 316 stainless steel hardware, premium carbon, and sintered silicon carbide faces. The FSI Type 2080D features three connections to accommodate API Plan 52 and API Plan 53 piping plans. A stationary design enables optimal face alignment, and its C-276 springs are isolated from the product to eliminate clogging and loss of face loading.
Double-balanced primary and mating rings allow for pressure in either direction, enabling the FSI Type 2080D to run as a pressurized or non-pressurized dual seal arrangement. Robust cross sections all for minimal rotation of the faces. The 2080d’s semi-dynamic O-rings moves across a non-metallic, smooth surface which eliminates the possibility of elastomer fretting. The O.D. pressure on the outboard seal allows for better cooling, higher pressure capabilities and venting of entrapped air in vertical applications. The efficiency of the pumping ring facilitates better cooling between the seals. As with all of our seals, the FSI Type 2080D is factory preset to eliminate installation errors and is pressure tested to ensure greater sealing reliability for your application.
