FSI received a call from a customer who was experiencing pump issues with their newly installed pump. Since it had only been operational for two weeks, our initial assessment of the situation was that debris was accidentally left in the piping and was plugging up the pump.

FSI went to work determining the cause of the problem. After removing the expansion joint from the pump suction, we found 8” flathead screwdriver. The amazing thing is that even with the screwdriver and all the debris we pulled out of the pump, it was still pumping approximately 50-75 GPM. The pump was cleaned out, reassembled and now works great returning to normal flow at 275 gpm, — with no damage to the pump. This is just one example how Discflo pumps can handle any tough job!!!
